Blanzat is a French municipality with 3749 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Clermont-Ferrand and the canton of Cébazat . The inhabitants are called Blanzatois (es) .

geography

Blanzat is located on the river Bédat in the Limagne region and is a banlieue of Clermont-Ferrand . Blanzat is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Malauzat in the north and north-west, Châteaugay in the north and north-east, Cébazat in the east, Clermont-Ferrand in the south, Durtol and Nohanent in the south-west and Sayat in the west.

A large part of Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne Airport is in the municipality.
