Saint-Julien-de-Coppel is a French commune in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It is located in the Arrondissement of Clermont-Ferrand and in the Canton of Billom .
The municipality is located about 30 kilometers southeast of Clermont-Ferrand and comprises 38 smaller and two larger towns (St-Julien and Contournât in the northwest of St-Julien) with 1276 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) on 21.54 square kilometers. The municipal area is mainly 400 to 500 m above sea level and only rises to over 700 m in the southern part with the Puy Pendu, Puy Gérard and Puy de Baine. Since 2002 the municipality has been one of the 16 municipalities of the "Communauté de communes de Billom / Saint Dier".

- Notre Dame de Roche , Romanesque chapel originally consecrated to Saint Sebastian in the abandoned Roche Castle, on a hill 580 m above sea level in the Roche district southeast of St-Julien. The single-nave room opens under a brick arch in the east to the abside-shaped choir with two niches and a arched window in the southeast. On the inner back wall there are stone votive tablets and a memorial plaque for those who died in the First World War . The roof is only partially covered with the original stone slab cover; in the arched, brick-built bell top, a bell is housed in the open arch. Every year in May there is a pilgrimage via a way of the cross up to the area near the chapel; The Virgin Mary is venerated , who is represented on the rock above the chapel with a larger than life statue from 1862, whose high round base with a small viewing platform can be climbed on a spiral staircase. The original Madonna of the Chapel, a wooden, colored sculpture from the 15th century, stands today in the church of Saint-Julien-de-Coppel.
