Vertaizon is a French municipality with 3187 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Vertaizon belongs to the Arrondissement of Clermont-Ferrand in the canton of Billom . The inhabitants are called Vertaizonnais .

Vertaizon is located in the Limagne region , about 20 kilometers east of Clermont-Ferrand . Vertaizon is surrounded by the neighboring communities
- Beauregard-l'Évêque in the north,
- Bouzel in the east,
- Vassel in the southeast,
- Chauriat in the south,
- Mur-sur-Allier with Mezel in the southwest and Dallet in the west,
- Pont-du-Château in the north-west.
The former route nationale 497 (today's D997) runs through the municipality .
