Malauzat is a French commune with 1,145 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Riom and the canton of Châtel-Guyon (until 2015: canton of Riom-Ouest ).

Malauzat is about six kilometers southwest of Riom and about eight kilometers north-northwest of Clermont-Ferrand in the old cultural landscape of Limagne . Malauzat is surrounded by the neighboring communities Enval in the north, Mozac in the northeast, Marsat in the east and northeast, Châteaugay in the east, Blanzat in the south and southeast, Sayat in the southwest and Volvic in the west and northwest.
