Moureuille is located in the Combraille landscape in the north of the Massif Central , about 30 kilometers southeast of Montluçon . The neighboring municipalities are Durmignat in the north, Échassières in the east and northeast, Servant in the south and east, Menat in the south and Saint-Éloy-les-Mines in the west.
