Chappes is about 14 kilometers northeast of Clermont-Ferrand on the Bédat . Chappes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Ennezat in the north, Entraigues in the east and northeast, Chavaroux in the east and southeast, Lussat in the south and Saint-Beauzire in the west.
