Châteauneuf-les-Bains is a French commune with a population of 316 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Riom and the canton of Saint-Éloy-les-Mines ( Manzat until 2015 ). The inhabitants are called Castelneuvois .

geography

Châteauneuf-les-Bains is located about 20 kilometers northwest of Riom and about 35 kilometers north-northwest of Clermont-Ferrand in the Monts Dômes on the Sioule . Châteauneuf-les-Bains is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Ayat-sur-Sioule in the north, Blot-l'Église in the east and northeast, Saint-Angel in the east and southeast, Vitrac in the south and Saint-Gervais-d'Auvergne in the west.

The place is known for its medicinal thermal springs.
