Lapeyrouse is located in the Combraille landscape in the north of the Massif Central , about 27 kilometers southeast of Montluçon . The neighboring municipalities are Hyds and Beaune-d'Allier in the north, Vernusse in the northeast, Louroux-de-Bouble in the east, Échassières in the southeast, Durmignat in the south, Buxières-sous-Montaigut in the southwest and La Celle in the west.
