Varennes-sur-Morge is located about 19 kilometers north-northeast of Clermont-Ferrand and about seven kilometers northeast of Riom in Limagne on the Morge . Varennes-sur-Morge is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Cheix in the north, Sardon in the northeast, Martres-sur-Morge in the east, Clerlande in the south, Pessat-Villeneuve in the southwest and Cellule in the west.
