Saint-Gervais-d'Auvergne is located about 27 kilometers northwest of Riom and about 34 kilometers north-northwest of Clermont-Ferrand . The Sioule River forms the southern and eastern municipal boundaries. Saint-Gervais-d'Auvergne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sainte-Christine in the north, Ayat-sur-Sioule in the northeast, Châteauneuf-les-Bains in the east, Vitrac in the southeast, Queuille and Sauret-Besserve in the south, Saint-Priest- des-Champs in the south-west and Gouttières in the west and north-west.
