Ayat-sur-Sioule (formerly Saint-Hilaire-d'Ayat ) is a French municipality with 145 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Riom and the canton of Saint-Éloy-les-Mines (until 2015 Saint-Gervais-d'Auvergne ).

Ayat-sur-Sioule is about 29 kilometers northwest of Riom and about 35 kilometers north-northwest of Clermont-Ferrand . Ayat-sur-Sioule is surrounded by the neighboring communities Neuf-Église and Menat in the north, Saint-Rémy-de-Blot in the northeast, Lisseuil in the east, Blot-l'Église in the southeast, Châteauneuf-les-Bains in the south, Saint- Gervais-d'Auvergne in the south-west and Sainte-Christine in the west and north-west.
