Gimeaux is a French municipality with 401 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Riom and the canton of Saint-Georges-de-Mons ( Combronde until 2015 ).

geography

Gimeaux is about nine kilometers north-northwest of Riom and about 24 kilometers north of Clermont-Ferrand . Gimeaux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Beauregard-Vendon in the north and northeast, Davayat in the east, Yssac-la-Tourette in the south, Prompsat in the west and Teilhède in the northwest.
