Combrailles is a French municipality with 218 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Riom and the canton of Saint-Ours (until 2015 Pontaumur ).

Combrailles is located about 48 kilometers west-northwest of Clermont-Ferrand in the old cultural landscape of the same name. Combrailles is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Landogne in the north, Pontaumur in the north and east, Saint-Hilaire-les-Monges in the south and south-east, Puy-Saint-Gulmier in the south, Saint-Étienne-des-Champs in the west and south-west and Condat- et-Combraille to the west and north-west.
