Saint-Angel is a French municipality with 427 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Riom and the canton of Saint-Georges-de-Mons (until 2015: canton of Manzat ). The inhabitants are called Birands .

geography

Saint-Angel is located about 26 kilometers north-northwest of Clermont-Ferrand in the Monts Dômes . The river Morge forms the southeastern boundary of the municipality. Saint-Angel is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Blot-l'Église in the north, Charbonnières-les-Vieilles in the east, Manzat in the south, Vitrac in the south-west and Châteauneuf-les-Bains in the west and north-west.
