Mons is a French municipality with 538 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Riom and the canton of Maringues .
geography
Mons is located about 24 kilometers east-northeast of Riom on the Buron River . In the extreme northeast of the municipality the Dore flows into the Allier . Mons is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Priest-Bramefant in the north and north-east, Mariol in the north-east, Ris in the east, Limons in the south and south-east, Luzillat in the south and south-west, Beaumont-lès-Randan in the west and Randan in the north-west.
