Mariol is a French municipality with 797 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Vichy and is part of the canton of Lapalisse (until 2015: canton of Cusset-Sud ). The inhabitants are called mariolais .
geography
Mariol is about twelve kilometers south-southeast of Vichy am Allier . Mariol is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Yorre in the north, Busset in the north and east, Ris in the south and south-east, Mons in the south-west and Saint-Priest-Bramefant in the west.
