Créchy is a French municipality with 455 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Vichy and the canton of Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule (until 2015 Varennes-sur-Allier ). The inhabitants are called Créchyssois .

geography

Créchy is about 14 kilometers north of Vichy am Allier . Créchy is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Varennes-sur-Allier in the north, Rongères in the north-east, Langy in the east, Sanssat in the east and south-east, Billy in the south, Marcenat in the west and south-west and Paray-sous-Briailles in the west and north-west.

The national route 209 runs through the municipality .

The community owned a train station on the Moret-Veneux-les-Sablons-Lyon-Perrache railway line, which is no longer served today.
