Lavoine is a French municipality with 146 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (2015 Auvergne ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Vichy and the canton of Lapalisse (until 2015: canton of Le Mayet-de-Montagne ).

Lavoine is about 25 kilometers east-southeast of Vichy . The Sichon and Besbre rivers have their source in the municipality of Lavoine . The neighboring municipalities of Lavoine are Ferrières-sur-Sichon to the north and north-west, Laprugne to the east and north-east, Saint-Priest-la-Prugne to the east and south-east, Palladuc to the south and south-west, Saint-Victor-Montvianeix to the west and south-west and La Guillermie in the west.
