Saint-Loup is a French municipality with 568 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Vichy and the canton of Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule (until 2015: canton of Varennes-sur-Allier ).

Saint-Loup is located about 22 km north of Vichy am Allier , which borders the municipality to the west. Saint-Loup is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Ferté-Hauterive in the north and north-west, Saint-Gérand-de-Vaux in the north and north-east, Montoldre in the east and south-east, Varennes-sur-Allier in the south, and Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule in the southwest and Contigny in the west.

The National Route 7 runs through the municipality .
