geography

Thionne is about 30 kilometers southeast of Moulins and about 36 kilometers north-northeast of Vichy . The Besbre limits the municipality to the east. Thionne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Mercy in the north and northwest, Vaumas in the north and northeast, Châtelperron in the east, Jaligny-sur-Besbre in the south, Treteau in the south and southwest and Saint-Voir in the west.
