Vendat ( Occitan : Vindat ) is a French municipality with 2216 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Administratively it is assigned to the canton of Bellerive-sur-Allier (until March 2015: canton of Escurolles ) and the arrondissement of Vichy .

geography

Vendat is a suburb of Vichy in the Limagne bourbonnaise region on the left (western) bank of the Allier . Vendat is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Rémy-en-Rollat in the north and north-east, Charmeil in the east, Espinasse-Vozelle in the south and south-west, Saint-Pont in the west and Broût-Vernet in the north-west.
