Billy is a commune with 781 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Vichy and the canton of Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule (until 2015 Varennes-sur-Allier ). The inhabitants are called Billyssois .
geography
Billy is about twelve kilometers north of Vichy am Allier . Billy is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Créchy in the north, Sanssat in the northeast, Saint-Félix in the east, Seuillet in the south and southeast, Saint-Germain-des-Fossés in the south, Saint-Rémy-en-Rollat in the southwest and Marcenat in the west.
The national route 209 runs through the municipality .
In the municipality, the Billy-Marcenat stop was on the Moret-Veneux-les-Sablons-Lyon-Perrache railway, which is no longer served today.
