Montaiguët-en-Forez is a French municipality with 313 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Vichy and the canton of Dompierre-sur-Besbre (until 2015 Le Donjon ).

Montaiguët-en-Forez is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lenax in the north, Le Bouchaud in the north-east, Urbise in the east and south-east, Sail-les-Bains and Saint-Martin-d'Estréaux in the south, Andelaroche in the west and south-west and Loddes in the north-west .
