Le Donjon is a French commune with 1,069 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Vichy and the canton of Dompierre-sur-Besbre (until 2015: canton Le Donjon ).
geography
Le Donjon is located about 37 kilometers northeast of Vichy in the foothills of the Montagne Bourbonnaise . Le Donjon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Liernolles in the north, Saint-Didier-en-Donjon in the north-east, Neuilly-en-Donjon in the east, Lenax in the south, Loddes in the south and south-west, Bert in the west and south-west and Montcombroux-les-Mines in the West.
