Sorbier is about 35 kilometers southeast of Moulins and about 32 kilometers northeast of Vichy . Sorbier is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Châtelperron in the north, Saint-Léon in the northeast, Montcombroux-les-Mines in the east, Bert in the southeast, Varennes-sur-Tèche in the south and Chavroches in the west.
