Le Breuil is a French municipality with 532 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Vichy and the canton of Lapalisse .
geography
The municipality is located in the western foothills of the Monts de la Madeleine mountains, around 18 kilometers northeast of Vichy and 25 kilometers northwest of Roanne . Neighboring municipalities of Le Breuil are Saint-Prix in the north, Droiturier in the north-east, Châtelus in the east, Arfeuilles in the south-east, Châtel-Montagne in the south, Isserpent in the west and Saint-Christophe in the north-west. The place itself is on the left bank of the Besbre river , in the About two kilometers further from the right the tributary Barbenan flows into it.
In the municipality of Le Breuil was the station Arfeuilles-Le Breuil on the railway line Moret-Veneux-les-Sablons-Lyon-Perrache which is now no longer served.
