Varennes-sur-Tèche is a French municipality with 245 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Vichy and the canton of Moulins-2 (until 2015 Jaligny-sur-Besbre ). The inhabitants are called the Varennois .
geography
Varennes-sur-Tèche is about 38 kilometers southeast of Moulins and about 27 kilometers northeast of Vichy . Varennes-sur-Tèche is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sorbier in the north, Bert in the east, Barrais-Bussolles in the southeast, Lapalisse in the south, Servilly in the southwest and Trézelles in the west.
