Mazerier is located in the Bourbonnais countryside about 21 kilometers west of Vichy . Mazerier is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Jenzat in the north, Saulzet in the east, Gannat in the south and south-east, Bègues in the west and south-west and Saint-Bonnet-de-Rochefort in the west and north-west.
