Ébreuil is a French commune with 1,265 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Vichy and the canton of Gannat .
geography
The 23.22 square kilometer community is located at 310 m on the Sioule , which flows from here in a wide, intensively agricultural valley to the Allier . Ébreuil borders the Puy-de-Dôme department in the south and is ten kilometers from Gannat and 27 kilometers from Vichy .
history
The place goes back to a monastery that was founded in 906 with the relics of St. Leodegar von Autun (around 616-679) and was taken over by the Benedictines in 1180 .
