The place is in the southwest of Radevormwald. The neighboring towns are Obernfeld , Niedernfeld , Karthausen , Heide and Honsberg . You can reach Oberkarthausen via the federal road 229 and the state road  81 that branches off at Herbeck .

history

In 1514 the place was first called “safe” in the church accounts of the Reformed parish Radevormwald “Karthusen”. Another source mentions the year 1422 in connection with an announcement of a feud. According to Pampus, however, the place Karthausen cannot be clearly localized in it.
