Herbeck is a place and district in Radevormwald in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the North Rhine-Westphalian administrative district of Cologne in Germany .
Location and description
Herbeck is on the federal road 229 , which leads through Radevormwald from Remscheid - Lennep to Lüdenscheid . Herbeck is considered to be the first larger town in the west of the city before the actual city center. The state road 81 crosses the federal road 229 in Herbeck and thus forms the most important connection to the Radevormwalder Wupperorten along with the Uelfe-Wuppertal-Straße.
Herbeck is the location for a church building and a fire fighting group of the Radevormwald volunteer fire brigade . The neighboring towns are Leimhol , Bergerhof , Oberdahlhausen and Karthausen .
Politically, the place is represented by the direct candidate from electoral district 120 in the city council of Radevormwald.
history
In 1512 the place was mentioned for the first time in the "church accounts" of the Reformed parish of Radevormwald. The spelling of the first mention was "Herbecke". In 1873 Herbeck already consisted of 14 houses and two farmsteads, a relatively large area compared to other parts of the city. The long-established “Herbeck” Albert Lorens gathered a number of young men around him this year and called the “Herbeck Syringe Club” into being.
