Erlenbach is located in the southeast of Radevormwald, right on the city limits to Hückeswagen . The only neighboring town in relative proximity is Wheels . You can reach the place via the district road 11, which branches off the federal road 229 in Rädereichen and leads towards Bevertalsperre .

A stream of the same name runs through Erlenbach, which has been dammed up to fish ponds at the level of the village. The Erlenbach then flows into the Bevertalsperre. Shortly after Erlenbach (towards the course of the stream) the Kreuzbach flows into the Erlenbach.

West of Erlenbach is the Röthlingsberg ( 380.4  m above sea level ) and north of the Hirschberg ( 387.2  m above sea level ). There is a small model airfield in the southeast .
