Grunewald is a town in Radevormwald in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the North Rhine-Westphalian administrative district of Cologne in Germany .

location

Grunewald is located northwest of Radevormwald on state road  414 in the Wupper valley. The neighboring towns are called Dahlerau , Keilbeck and Obergrunewald . The Wupperverband operates the Radevormwald sewage treatment plant near the village . The tracks of the Wuppertal Railway run past the western edge of the village.

Politically, the place is represented by the direct candidate from constituency 150 in the city council of Radevormwald.

history

In the historical topographic map ( Prussian new recording ) from 1892 to 1894, “Grunewald” is recorded. In 1888, the railway line between Dahlerau and Beyenburg, which ran past the site, was opened.

In 1832 the place belonged to the parish Remlingrade of the rural outskirts of the mayor's office Radevormwald . The place, which was categorized as an inn according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had a residential building at the time. At that time 19 residents lived in the village, eleven Catholic and eight Protestant faith. In 1888, four houses with 71 inhabitants are listed in the community encyclopedia of the Rhine Province .
