Klaukenburg is located in the east of Radevormwald on a side road that branches off from the federal road 229 in Eich and runs in the direction of Borbeck . Neighboring towns are Oberschmittensiepen , Eich and Studberg .

A tributary of the Borbach, which flows into the Ennepe, rises in the village .

The place is politically represented in the city council of Radevormwald by the direct candidate from electoral district 180.

history

The settlement is shown on the historical map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715. The place name is "Claucumburg". In the map topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1825, the spelling “Klaukumburg” is used. Starting with the topographical map from 1840 to 1843 ( Prussian first recording ), all recent maps mention the place name "Klaukenburg".
