Karthausen is a place in Radevormwald in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in the North Rhine-Westphalian administrative district of Cologne in Germany .
Location and description
The place is in the southwest of Radevormwald. The neighboring towns are Obernfeld , Niedernfeld , Oberkarthausen and the Radevormwald district of Herbeck . You can reach Karthausen via the federal road 229 and the state road 81 that branches off at Herbeck .
The Karthauser Bach flows into the Wupper on the western edge of the village .
history
In 1514 the place was first called “safe” in the church accounts of the Reformed parish Radevormwald “Karthusen”. Another source mentions the year 1422 in connection with an announcement of a feud. According to Klaus Pampus, however, the town of Karthausen cannot be clearly located in it.
