Krebsögersteg is a residential area in the town of Radevormwald in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the North Rhine-Westphalian administrative district of Cologne in Germany .

location

Krebsögersteg is located west of Radevormwald in the valley of the Wupper in the immediate vicinity of Krebsöge on the other side of the river, whose split it is. Other neighboring towns are Wilhelmstal , Lorenzhaus and Rechelsiepen . The Wilhelmstal stop of the disused Wuppertal Railway is located on the northern edge of the village and can be reached via a footbridge across the Wupper. A previous construction of this footbridge gave the place its name.

Two bodies of water flow into the Wupper near the village. The mouth of the Karthauser Bach is located 150 meters from the village upstream and the Rechelsiepens downstream .

Politically, the place is represented by the direct candidate from electoral district 130 in the city council of Radevormwald.

history

At the footbridge is the place name in the Prussian first recording from 1840 to 1843 and such a place was also drawn on the place next to a street ford. From the Messtischblatt edition 1927 of the topographic map at 1: 25,000 is named the village with Krebsögersteg.

The first section of the Wuppertal Railway was built in 1886 to connect the factories in the Wupper villages . Railway line passed the place. Krebsögersteg was connected to passenger traffic via the Wilhelmstal stop. In 1980 regular rail operations were discontinued by the Deutsche Bundesbahn .

In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland , a house with six inhabitants is given for the year 1895. At that time the place belonged to the mayor's office of Fünfzehnhöfe within the Lennep district . In 1909 the place had a house with ten residents.

In 1906 the mayor's office was incorporated into the town of Lennep . Lennep was again incorporated into Remscheid in 1929 , the eastern outskirts such as Krebsögersteg became part of Radevormwald.
