Split

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Abspliss , or in the older spelling, abspliss , denotes a split in settlement geography and mining .

Settlement geography

Abspliss in the sense of a separate plot of land refers to a sub-settlement that is split off from a main settlement and has a special legal relation to the main settlement. In the Middle Ages in particular, the splitting of main courtyards resulted in neighboring side courtyards, which are now independent localities.

The proverbThe split should apply again in the sale ” aims at the problem that split-offs resulting from inheritance lead to small areas that are no longer economically usable and the aim should be to reunite them into one economic unit.

Mining

In the mining industry, abspliss refers to the small, separated part of a lent mining field .
