15 Höfe was a rural community until 1906 and from 1873 a mayor's office in the Lennep district in the Prussian Rhine province. The former municipality today belongs mainly to the independent city of Remscheid in North Rhine-Westphalia . In the early modern period, 15 farms were named after the local authority .

The rural community was already at the time of the Duchy of Berg own municipal unit in the Office Bornefeld-Hückeswagen and survived the municipal reorganization in the Grand Duchy of Berg under French administration from 1806. It was by the French to the newly established after the dissolution of Bergisch offices Canton Wermelskirchen in the district Elberfeld assigned . According to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , in 1832, the population of 15 Höfe was 714, divided into 41 Catholic and 673 Protestant parishioners. The community's living quarters comprised a total of 90 houses, three factories and mills, 83 agricultural buildings and two public buildings.

In 1873 the city of Wermelskirchen was re-established as a merger of the municipalities of Oberwermelskirchen , Niederwermelskirchen and the Wermelskirchener Dorfhonschaft . On the occasion of this reclassification, the community of Fünfzehnhöfe was raised to a separate mayor's office within the mayor's office of Wermelskirchen.

The community encyclopedia for the province of Rhineland from 1887 gives a population of 1,420 for the mayor's office in Fünfzehnhöfe (1,122 Protestant, 297 Catholic and one other Christian faith), who lived in 21 places with a total of 104 houses and 283 households. The area of ​​the municipality was (732 ha ). The 1897 edition gives a population of 1,263 (1,069 Protestant, 185 Catholic and nine other Christian faiths) for the mayor's office, called the Fünfzehnhöfe, who lived in 108 houses and 258 households.

In 1885, in addition to the above, the court and residential areas (contemporary spelling) Bergerhöhe , Krebsögersteeg , Nagelsbergermühle , Wilhelmsmühle and Wilhelmstal were also included .

Fifteenhöfe was incorporated into the town of Lennep in 1906 , which in turn was incorporated into the town of Remscheid in 1929 by handing over peripheral areas to Radevormwald .
