Durchsholz is a court in the southeast of the Bergisch city ​​of Remscheid in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Location and description

Durchsholz is located in the statistical district of Hackenberg in the Lennep district above the Wuppertalsperre dam near the city limits to Radevormwald . Neighboring residential areas and farms are Jammertal , Holzerne Klinke , Hardtshof , Kleebach , Jacobsmühle , Müllersberg and Nagelsberg on Remscheider and Krebsögersteg , Krebsöge and Honsberg on Radevormwalder urban area. Durchsholz was first mentioned in a document in 1433 as Durtholt . The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows the farm as Holtz . In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen .

In 1815/16 there were 33 people living in the village. In 1832 Durchsholz was part of the Altbergian rural community of Fünfzehnhöfe , which now belonged to the mayor's office of Wermelskirchen . According to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , the place called Ackerhof had six residential buildings and five agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 34 residents lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland , six houses with 105 inhabitants are given for the year 1885. At that time the place belonged to the mayor's office of Fünfzehnhöfe within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had seven houses with 99 inhabitants, in 1905 seven houses and 74 inhabitants.

In 1906 the mayor's office was incorporated into the city of Lennep with Durchsholz, which in turn was incorporated into Remscheid in 1929.
