Walter Lorenz (historian)

Walter Lorenz (born November 4, 1921 in Coburg ; † January 24, 2007 in Remscheid ) was a German historian and archivist of the Remscheid City Archives .

Live and act

Walter Lorenz studied in Bamberg and Erlangen and received his doctorate with a thesis on the Sonnefeld Monastery (“De campus solis”). From 1971 he was archivist of the Remscheid City Archives and first chairman of the Remscheid department of the Bergisches Geschichtsverein . He was also the author of articles in the Neue Deutsche Biographie .
