Uelfe I is a village in Radevormwald in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the North Rhine-Westphalian administrative district of Cologne in Germany .

Location and description

The place is in the east of the urban area in the valley of the Uelfebach in the middle of the industrial area Mermbach. In the village the Lünsenburger Bach flows into the Uelfe . Neighboring towns are Mermbach , Uelfe II , Grüne , Rädereichen and Radevormwald .

Politically, the court is represented by the direct candidate from electoral district 10 in the city council of Radevormwald.

The place Uelfe is mentioned for the first time in 1484. A "Clais in Olve" is listed in a loan list for Duke Wilhelm III von Berg . In the map topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1825, two farms with the name "Uelfe" are listed in the Uelfe I area. In the Prussian first recording from 1840 to 1843 two separate courtyards can also be seen. For both places the place name is "Schäfersülfe". Only the historical topographical map from 1892 to 1894 ( Prussian New Admission ) mentions the place name commonly used today "Uelfe I".
