Wintershaus is located in the east of the Radevormwald urban area on the city limits of Halver . The neighboring towns are Diepenbruch , Kettlershaus , Tanne and Eich . The place can be reached in Radevormwalder urban area via the federal road 229 .

There is a connection to the public transport network via the bus stop on line 134 (VRL) in Kettlershaus .

The Kreuzbach, which flows into the Erlenbach, rises to the northwest of the village .

In the historical topographic map from 1840 to 1844 the place "Wintershaus" is drawn.

The section of the Bergische Landwehr , which passed close to the Hofschaft and reached from Wuppertal-Elberfeld to Marienheide-Krommenohl, protected the Bergische territory from incursions from the Märkisch region. The local researcher Gerd Helbeck dates the emergence of this Landwehr to the early 14th century.
