José Dolores Gámez Guzmán
José Dolores Gámez Guzmán (* 1851 in Rivas , † 1923 in Managua ) was a Nicaraguan historian and politician.
Life
He grew up in Granada in a house which housed the Teatro Bertini and later the Cine Colonial . Gámez was a member of the Partido Liberal . Gámez was haciendero from Santa Úrsula and La Asunciónin in Chontales with thousands of cattle. Gámez published the newspaper El Termómetro in Rivas , in which Rubén Darío published the poem Una lagrima for the first time in 1880 . Gámez published the newspaper El 93 in which Monseñór Lezcano wrote. In the reign of José Santos Zelaya from 1893 to 1910 Gámez was a member of parliament. On August 8, 1893, Gámez Ministro de Instrucción Pública became Minister of Public Affairs. On October 7, 1894, Gámez signed as agent of Zelaya a friendship treaty with Honduras, which he had negotiated with César Bonilla as agent of Policarpo Bonilla .
In 1889 Gámes was President of Parliament. In 1904 Gámez was Minister of Education.
In Article 38 of the 1905 Constitution, all societies were banned in favor of Manos Muertas . By which churches were meant.
On March 17, 1907, Gámez was Minister of Government. On March 18, 1907, Gámez was Foreign Minister .
After the battle of Namasigüe on March 23, 1907, the diplomatic missions of Nicaragua took over the diplomatic mission of Honduras worldwide.
