Niederdahl is a place and district of Radevormwald in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the North Rhine-Westphalian administrative district of Cologne in Germany .
Location and description
The place is just before the city limits of Wuppertal and can be reached from the village of Dahlerau via Wülfingstraße. The neighboring villages are called Kotthausen and Oberdahl . Due to its location, Niederdahl can still be counted among the Radevormwald Wupper villages. The Auf'm Hagen settlement is also in the immediate vicinity of Niederdahl .
The hiking trail X7, also known as the "Residenzenweg", runs through Niederdahl. After Dahlhausen, the Residenzenweg initially follows the wooded course of the Wupper before it takes its way uphill to Niederdahl. From there the Residenzenweg runs uphill again to the village of Oberdahl.
history
1547 Oberdahl belonged to the Honschaft Walbrecken in the parish of Lüttringhausen of the Beyenburg office , to which another 15 surrounding farms belonged.
The statistics of the Lutheran community of Lüttringhausen reported in 1798 that there were 59 inhabitants. In 1832 Niederdahl was still part of the Walbrecken Honschaft, which now belonged to the Lüttringhausen mayor . According to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , the place called a hamlet was called Niederthal and at that time owned four residential buildings and four agricultural buildings. At that time there were 62 people living in the village, four of them Catholic and 58 Protestant. In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland from 1888, six houses with 79 inhabitants are given.
In 1898 the village of Niederdahl was assigned to the parish of Dahlerau. Lüttringhausen was partially incorporated into Remscheid , Barmen-Elberfeld and Radevormwald during a municipal reform in 1929 , Niederdahl came to Radevormwald.
The place was also the location of an elementary school that existed until at least 1962.
Since 1975 the place belongs to Radevormwald. Niederdahl is represented on the city council by the directly elected candidate from constituency 15.
Public transport
The place is connected to the public transport via the citizen bus line 4 " Remlingrader ", which commutes between the central Radevormwalder bus station and the Wuppermarkt.
