Obersondern is a court in the Wuppertal residential district of Herbringhausen in the Langerfeld-Beyenburg district .
geography
The yard is located at 239 m above sea level. NHN on a ridge between the Herbringhauser Bach and the Hengstener Bach north of the Herbringhauser dam and south of the Beyenburger locality of Sondern . The state road 411 lies between Obersondern and the neighboring Niedersondern .
history
In the Middle Ages, Obersondern, along with 15 other farms, belonged to the Walbrecken honors in the Lüttringhausen parish of the Beyenburg office . In 1547 a list of manual and tensioning services shows that there was a dwelling. In 1715 the court was referred to as o-Sondern on the Topographia Ducatus Montani .

At that time 28 people lived in the place, two Catholic and 26 Protestant faith. In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province from 1888, three houses with 16 inhabitants are given.
