Brückberg is a location in the Wuppertal residential district of Beyenburg-Mitte in the Langerfeld-Beyenburg district . The majority of the population no longer has the name Brückberg as an independent name for this location.

Etymology and Geography

The name Brückberg comes from the length of the mountain slope above the Beyenburger bridge .

The location is at 214  m above sea level. NHN above the route of the Wuppertal Railway southwest of the former Beyenburg train station in the area of ​​today's streets Am Kriegermal and Rentmeistersfeld . In 1815/16 nine people lived in the village. In 1832 Brückberg was part of the Walbrecken Honschaft , which now belonged to the mayor's office of Lüttringhausen . According to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , the place called a hamlet had four residential buildings and an agricultural building at that time. At that time 28 people lived in the place, five Catholic and 23 Protestant faith.

The Heerweg Cologne – Dortmund coming from the Beyenburger Bridge led up the mountain near Brückberg in the Middle Ages and early modern times. To the south of Brückberg there is still a ravine along the Altstrasse .
