Chavroches is a French municipality with 247 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Vichy and the canton of Moulins-2 (until 2015 Jaligny-sur-Besbre ).

Chavroches is located about 32 kilometers south-southeast of Moulins and about 24 kilometers north-northeast of Vichy . Chavroches is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Jaligny-sur-Besbre in the north, Châtelperron in the north-east, Sorbier in the east, Trézelles in the south, Cindré in the west and south-west and Treteau in the west and north-west.
