Châtelperron is a French municipality with 146 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Vichy and the canton of Moulins-2 . She is the namesake for the archaeological culture of Châtelperronien .

geography

In the commune of Châtelperron, 30 kilometers southeast of Moulins , extends the valley of the Graveron , a tributary of the Besbre . The Besbre forms the western border of the municipality.
