La Chabanne is a French municipality with 186 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (2015 Auvergne ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Vichy and the canton of Lapalisse (until 2015: canton of Le Mayet-de-Montagne ).

La Chabanne is located about 27 kilometers east-southeast of Vichy . The neighboring municipalities of La Chabanne are Saint-Clément in the north and west, Saint-Nicolas-des-Biefs in the east and northeast, Laprugne in the south and Ferrières-sur-Sichon in the west.
