Montoldre is about 19 kilometers north-northeast of Vichy . Montoldre is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Gérand-de-Vaux in the north and north-west, Treteau in the north-east, Boucé in the east, Rongères in the south, Varennes-sur-Allier in the west and south-west and Saint-Loup in the north-west.
